2. Thesis: Female athletes should be celebrated and recognized more often, rather than just when an incident like this comes up and are described in a negative way.
- Debates on what will define female athletes won’t save women’s sports, paying more attention to them will
- ironic that there is such a big deal over a sport that usually would have relatively little coverage in the first place
- There is more focus on Semenya’s situation, not women’s accomplishments- without this picture posted, there would have been no recognition of the athletes pictured behind her otherwise
